Lakehead women 7th, men 10th at OUA Championships
LONDON, Ont. - The Lakehead Thunderwolves women's and men's Cross Country put in strong performances at the OUA Championships in London, Ontario on Saturday; hosted by the University of Western Ontario. The women's squad finished an impressive 7th out of a field of 15 teams while the men's squad finished 10th out of 14 teams.
Sarah Swan was the top Lakehead finisher on the women's side in 38th place with a time of 19:59 on the 5km course in a field of 103 runners. Liz VanEvery was 41st in a time of 20:05, Ellen Ross was 46th in 20:15, Loriana Costanzo was 50th in 20:23, Brittany Hughes and Tafline Tong were 51st and 52nd in 20:25, and Emilie Caron was 71st in 21:00.
Jonas Holmberg was the top overall Lakehead finisher and to male runner; finishing 12th in a time of 33:08 on the 10km course in the field of 93 runners. Dave Witiluk placed 41st in 34:59, Antonio Redfern Pucci was 57th in 36:10, Michael Asmussen was 62nd in 36:21, and Dave Cybulski was 91st in 40:09.
