WINNIPEG - The 2009 Canada Games runs from August 15-29 in the province of Prince Edward Island and there are 50 current athletes, recruits and alumni representing Manitoba. From those teams, Bison athletes will be involved with nine teams plus with nine current and alumni Bisons as support staff in a coaching role.

The basketball teams (women and men) will have Bison men's basketball head coach Kirby Schepp as the coach of the men's team with Bison alumni Cheryl Jean-Paul and Sarah Holder as coaches of the women's side. Bison golf co-coaches Garth Goodbrandson and Derek Ingram are coaches of Team Manitoba with two new Bison recruits with the golf team. There are 35 Bison current, recruits and alumni athletes on the track and field teams (16 women and 19 men).
